Explorer Shutdown When Opening Folder On Iomega External Drive

my office computer went black and not opening. Of course once those drives sizes were surpassed, a BIOS change was required. My Hard drive can work just in Safe Mode.if i go in Normal mode, it stops when it goes to open Desktop ๐Ÿ™ What should I do to fix that problem? iOmega's software can see the drive too but doesn't recognize a drive letter just folders (I believe they are movable partitions rather than actual folders) so I'm thinking MBR is corrupted.
