EVERYTHING is on here!!! Reformat the drive with the newer NTFS file system or older FAT32 file system so Windows will be able to recognize it. The system will do your c: drive first and then will do your external drive. Reply Huzaifa February 12, 2016 at 8:59 pm those answers were good , but my problem is not solved yet. and it isn't giving me any options. But there is another problem with external disc with its power supply. The Windows System Restore feature could save your butt.

Is there any way i can repair it without formatting it? If the drive does not power on, or is not spinning, the unit could be damaged. If your external hard drive is more than 2TB it is probably formatted in GPT instead of standard MBR, which cannot be read by 32bit Operating Systems such as WIndows XP.
